Its a Wrap

Well It truly was amazing to spend a whole week with 12 young colorectal cancer survivors in one of the most magical places I know of:

A view from the back porch, where lots of morning cups of coffee and talks of colon resections, ostomy reversals, chemotherapy side effects are all discussed, and a place where in the evening slushies are enjoyed as we all reflect on the trials we have been through with the common thread being colorectal cancer. It is hard to believe that all these amazing people:

Have battled cancer.  Such amazing people, each of them have their own story of survival!  You will be able to meet each of them when the 2012 Colondar is released at the beginning of September.
I am so glad to have added 12 new amazing people to my family.

Hey Suzie,
My name is Liz and I have been reading your blog for a while now. I am happy to see that you are positive and active. The retreat of survivors you visited seems like a very inspiration and awesome place with people of the same caliber. I hope that you keep writing.
That said, since your blog is a great resource for someone going through cancer I wanted to reach out to you to see if you were interested in a new online social support network (that I am the community manager of!) called I Had Cancer. It is a new and free social support network focused on connecting people based on experiences with cancer so that they can easily communicate with one another and share information. I would love to tell you more if you are interested, so please let me know! Because I was so struck by your writing I would love to send you an early-access pass with extra invites for others you may know going through this journey.

Either way, thank you so much for your writing. Take care and best regards.
If anyone would like info on I Had Cancer please email me.

About the only benefit of having cancer is all the amazing people you get to know because of it. It sounds like your retreat was more of that. Continue to enjoy.
